Model United Nations

Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations, where countries gather to solve the world's most pressing problems like poverty, environmental conservation, and protection of cultures.

Each person acts as a delegate from a certain country, and it's your goal to pass an agreement that solves a pressing problem and is the best interest of your country.

The New Century and Lee model united nations delegation stands in two rows on the steps in front of the curved entrance of a white and red-brick building at University of Alabama. They are all facing the camera, holding white placards with their committee assignments and names, and most are wearing the red shirt of ALMUN (alabama model united nations). The Model United Nations delegation stands on steps in front of a large entrance to a white stone building with columns.

Model United Nations does offer awards, but it is mainly about cooperation, teamwork, and persuasion.

If you like politics, social studies, or thinking outside of the box, Model UN is for you!

Meetings & Joining

Model UN only meets around conferences, which are currently on hold because of COVID. We are hoping to resume conferences and meetings during the second semester, but make sure to join the GroupMe (qr code to the left) and the Discord so you know when meetings start.
